After looking through your posts I see nothing about
replaceing the stock wimpy 8.5 compression piston with
a 9.5 or 10 to 1 slug it seems to me this would at a
modest cost of $200.00 us would give 5-8 hp gain.
Along with a supertrapp maybe 9-10 hp gain or am I
full of Dung.
I bought my Savage new 6/24/99 Without driveing it
first (dumb move i know ) but I was struck drunk by the
size ofthat Jug, I like big Jug`s.:-)
I have done the spacer thing and the idle circuit mod.
Great so far no 12 gague blasts now or shift farts.
One thing I am worried about after the 600 mile checkup
I decided that oil is cheaper than parts so for the first
2500 mi. I changed the oil at 500 mile interavels .
The engine shows lots of metal very fine but it is still there
Is this normal? I am use to changing oil in my pontiac
and if the oil looked like that , well time for a rebuild.
sorry for boreing you all.
Thanks for your time .
Any inpuit will be great.
